Health Department Verification: The Health Department must verify that the proposed project will not interfere with any existing wastewater treatment system, or that the project has sufficient space to support installation of an adequate treatment system.
Submit your application with documents and payment. Fee: $2.00 per $1,000 of construction cost (min $150, max $500)
The Zoning Officer reviews your application for compliance with zoning regulations, setbacks, and height limits.
Once your zoning permit is issued, contact Shelby County for a building permit before beginning construction.

Display your permits at the job site and begin construction according to approved plans.
Schedule required inspections during and after construction. Final approval needed before occupancy.
